About Me

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Many little girls dream of becoming a dancer when young. I was one of them and did, as well as teaching in many areas of this art form. However I made the change to becoming a gym trainer and eventually a competitor in Figure. After being diagnosed with two interlinked "conditions" I pushed on to continue competing as sportsmodel, however wish to return to compete in figure. This blog is to show those who feel certain conditions in any area of their lives can be overcome to still reach their full potential and dreams. This blog is my journey to overcome obstacles and inspire others to do the same.

Pleasantly Surprised:) 240507

My hubby and I had a few heated discussions on Tuesday night, which led to me going to bed bawling and actually didnt get any sleep at all...the previous nights hadnt been the best either.
When I woke Wednesday I felt depressed, and looked like I had fought 3 rounds with Mike Tyson. I gave in and took my last scoop of Xpand and 1 x lipo to try to wake myself up.
I got through my workout by using the anger resentment and frustration as fuel to push myself further than I thought possible. I supersetted everything on my list- a technique I previously have used and now will use again till my comp program is created by my trainer.

A few years ago I got my hubby a job at the same place i work, but in a different department so we never saw eachother. He is presently is the same department under a secondment and could be asked to go back to the call centre any time. However we sit at totally opposite ends of a huge room and rarely speak to eachother. Wednesday my friend Suzy who I may refer to as Sims(as this is her obsession-shes a gamer)received an email to say that the shippment from Bodybuilding.com that sims my hubby and I sent two weeks ago had arrived. Suzy and I silently went down to collect and pack it into my car without my hubby knowing.
Let him suffer I thought:) hehehehe no seriously we couldnt hide it for too long and told him and he was very happy!

When i got home even though I am only supposed to do 30min x 3 cardio per week right now, I got on my xtrainer and did 30 min mild intensity to make sure any energy from grievences were released from my body-plus I like the endorphins I get from cardio!

By the time my hubby had come home from work I was in a much better frame of mind and we sorted a few things out.
I practiced my posing, going through the tips i learnt from my one on one posing session with

Sharon Waters. My posing is coming along nicely I believe. And I know that alot has to do with the dance training I have received over the years.

I went to the doctors as a precautionary measure, to get some assistance with my sleep as when nights like Tuesday happen, it tends to extend for a week or two which by the end of this time I am thoroughly exhausted and not myself at all. Of course this really effects my ability to train although i still go and train and try to do what I did Wednesday am.
I spent one and a half hours-my whole night at the doctors waiting to be seen even though I did have an appointent time!

I am now returning to my "cycling" promise to stay off all supplemnents except glutamine and protein until the first week of June.
I feel that even with the supplements I was using and am now taking a break for two weeks with- I have reached my Personal Bests on all exercises and wouldnt be able to lift heavier unless I used bad technique. So i am aiming to use my supersetting to keep the intensity high instead of increasing the weight and training sloppy. I have found that I may be decreasing some of the weights I had been using as personal bests but in the end I am still pushing myself to my bodys limit and basically training to failure. I have heard that training to failure means, after you have chosen the correct weight for the rep range that you use, you should be able to rep it out until 2 reps short of you range aim. At this stage it should be very hard or you to continue lifting. If you have stopped being able to lift you should continue intermittenly to do another rep for the next 15 seconds. If you can't that means your work is done and you have trained that set to failure.

This morning I woke and only took my glutamine and 1 x lipo (usually I take energized xpand but this is one of the supplements I am refraining from for two weeks.) and again suspersetted all chest shoulders and tris.

At the end of my workout the gym owner came up to me and asked if I could find some photos of the ANB or INBA sportsmodel comp that I did so that he could laminate and put them up in the gym. Apparently I got some good reviews from people who had seen me and recognized me in the gym.(How they could see that I was the same person considering I am no glamour puss in the gym is a wonder:)

I am proud that I finally got placed in both comps as this was my aim this year and then to step back into figure competing. It was a good uplift to a shaky weeks start:)
