About Me

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Many little girls dream of becoming a dancer when young. I was one of them and did, as well as teaching in many areas of this art form. However I made the change to becoming a gym trainer and eventually a competitor in Figure. After being diagnosed with two interlinked "conditions" I pushed on to continue competing as sportsmodel, however wish to return to compete in figure. This blog is to show those who feel certain conditions in any area of their lives can be overcome to still reach their full potential and dreams. This blog is my journey to overcome obstacles and inspire others to do the same.

long time no speak 160707

Dear funky friends,

Long story short- I had a migraine all week and hence didn’t go to pole dancing but will be going tonight. Then on Sunday I stayed closed to the loo in preparation for my endoscope. Pico lax was taken at 8am and sated on the pack that it would “work” by three hours-right-eight hours later. Anyway…I survived with Gatorade and whey shakes and felt full of energy. The next day though was different. The hospital experience was interesting. How do people who make you feel bad about your own name or just because you took different bowel prep-as the gastroenterologist treating you said to do? This before getting wheeled in to surgery” oh well if you are not fully cleaned out you’ll have to do it all again and we won’t do the operation”-yeah...thanks for that. When in the theatre it was clear that the anesthetist was a newbie. A doctor leant over my bed and said”Hi! I'm your distractor!!What we are going to do is give you some anesthetic-it will feel like we’ve stunned you and then halfway through you make wake up a little but then we will stun you again.” I laughed m fanny off! (No I wasn’t under the anesthetists spell yet!)
I usually go under easily and almost enjoy the experience but this time was different. It was as if I really had been stunned and that a pack of bees buzzing had been squashed into my ears. I had to tell myself just to relax as this must be the way these chaps did it. I just hoped that the newbie wouldn’t get things wrong-it was so clear that he was new as my distracter was telling him what to do and was almost getting annoyed. I came out of it really well and had some home grown love and care when I came home.
This morning a pushed out some amazing rep ranges and weight with legs and at the time was amazed as for two days I hadn’t been eating much and that at the time I was actually super setting smith squat and leg press!
I am sure that I will be sore tomorrow-but it’s all good!
Did some posing practice this morning and already my am cardio-thank goodness I am on annual leave!
